St Mirren knew that a win over Dundee would keep them in 5th place in the league and take them 9 points clear of their nearest rivals.

The game was kicked off 30 minutes late due to traffic problems which delayed Dundee’s arrival in Paisley.

The 1st halt finished 0 – 0 with the best change falling to Dundee’s Owen Beck but a last ditch tackle from Saint’s Kwon and a slip by Beck ended with him shooting wide of the post.

The 2nd halt saw St Mirren pass up a number of chances before scoring their two goals

The 1st goal courtesy of Mandron’s strike from the edge of the box.

The 2nd goal came from a breakaway with Olusayna running clear from the halfway line to slot the ball past Dundee’s Carson. The linesman flagged for offside but thanks to VAR justice was done and the goal was given.

It was a very enjoyable game and leaves Saint’s nine points clear in front of Dundee in fifth place and just a point behind Kilmarnock in 4th Place.

On Sunday, St Mirren play Celtic in Paisley in the Scottish Cup last 16 at 2pm.
