Shaun Rooney has left St Mirren by “mutual consent”, it has been confirmed by the club. The 28-year-old had been suspended following an assault charge relating to an incident in a Glasgow takeaway last month. The match was far closer than the result would indicate with the visitors only leading 13-3 at the half.
