St Mirren 2 – 0 St Johnstone

It has been a long time since I’ve seen St Mirren dominate a game as much as they did in this match.

St Mirren had several attempts before they took the lead in the 36th minute when a shot from Mandron hit the St Johnstone post only to rebound off the St Johnstone keeper Dimitar Mitov’s back and finish in the net.

St Mirren continued to dominate and had other chances before the end of the 1st half, however it finished 1 – 0 to St Mirren at half time.

The second half started very much like the first half and it was the man Mandron again who scored St Mirren’s 2nd goal in the 64 minute.

As the game continued  Kwon Hyeok-kyu thought he had scored his first goal for St Mirren but VAR stepped in again and adjudged him to have fouled a St Johnstone player before he had scored.

It was late in the game when St Johnstone finally troubled Zach Hemming forcing him into a fine save.

The game finished 2 -0 to the Paisley Saints.

There were worrying scenes at the end of the game when St Johnstone’s Adama Sidibeh collapsed. St Johnstone released a statement later that evening confirming Sidibeh was taken to the Royal Alexander Hospital in Paisley and was in a stable condition.

A St Johnstone spokesperson said: “The club can confirm that Adama Sidibeh is in a stable condition.

“The striker has been taken to a local hospital in Paisley for further medical checks and the club will update on his condition in due course.

“St Johnstone Football Club would like to thank the staff of St Mirren for their help and support at the end of today’s Scottish Premiership fixture.”
