Darvel fined £100 and docked 3 points for clerical error
Darvel FC has been deducted three points and fined by the West of Scotland Football League.
It comes after a clerical error with a trialist goalkeeper not having a valid International Transfer Certificate when he was listed on the team sheet in their match against Shotts Bon Accord FC on 7th September 2024.
The club was deducted three points and been given a £100 monetary fine with immediate effect.
Darvel will not appeal this decision. The club has apologised to their supporters and players though a statement on social media and said ‘they will learn’ from the clerical error.
A spokesperson for the club, said: “We have decided as a club that we will waive our right to appeal and learn from this situation. We apologise to our supporters and players for this situation and will learn from it moving forward.”
