Match report: Dundee 1 – 3 St Mirren
St Mirren went into the match knowing that a win would put the 5 points in front of Dundee in the league and make them the favourites to clinch that 5th European spot.
Saints started the game well and took control of much of the first half without scoring until Alex Gogic scored from close in on the 38th minute at this point St Mirren were in control and Dundee seemed unable to trouble the Paisley side. Half time Dundee 0 – 1 St Mirren.
The second half continued to see St Mirren dominate and in the 59th minute Scott Tanser put Saints 2 in front when James Bolton headed down to him, he had lots of time and made no mistake as he shot low into the bottom corner. It was all Saints now and with 72 minutes on the clock good play from Baccus and Mandron set up Olusanya who scored Saints 3rd from around 4 yards.
Dundee rallied and scored on the 76th minute from a McMellon header, they then produced a couple of half chances witch came to nothing and St Mirren saw the game out for a comfortable 3 – 1 win.
