Goalkeeper Luis Cameron moves to Burgh on Loan
Johnstone Burgh has signed Patrick Thistle goalkeeper Luis Cameron on loan until January.
Luis is a graduate of the Patrick Thistle Youth Academy and signed his modern apprenticeship with the senior team in July alongside Che Campbell and Thomas Horn.
The 17-year-old has been training with the first team on a full-time basis this season and featured on the bench for Thistles’ trip to face Motherwell in the Premier Sports Cup but now heads out on a temporary switch to Keanie Park as he aims to continue his development.
Johnstone Burgh, said: “Johnstone Burgh FC are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Luis Cameron from Patrick Thistle FC.
“Luis joins us, on loan, until January. Welcome to Keanie Park.
Thistle manager Kris Doolan, speaking via the club website www.ptfc.co.uk, said: “Our philosophy for young players is definitely that they can really benefit from time out on loan. We’ve already got Sallu Turay, Jamie Taggart and Che Campbell out playing games and we felt it was the right move for Luis as well.
“He’s shown some real promise in training over the last few months but opportunities aren’t likely to present themselves this season so instead of playing under 18s he now goes out and has the chance to compete for a starting spot in a first team environment.”+
